Puerto Chiapas Mexico Cruise Port Guide
Location:
The Puerto Chiapas cruise terminal is located within the port complex of Puerto Chiapas. The nearest significant town is Tapachula, which is approximately 20-30 kilometers away from the port.
There is a shuttle service to Tapachula. You can purchase tickets ($10 pp return) right inside the large palapa-styled cruise terminal. Shuttles run all day from the cruise terminal in Puerto Chiapas to the central plaza of Tapachula. The trip takes about 40 minutes each way.
The park-like terminal consists of two buildings: one is home to the pier market, with several vendors selling their wares, as well as a performance space. The other building features a bar and restaurant, along with internet access.

Just make it a relaxing day, as there are few sights around. A nice beach is close to the terminal. Or partake in a tour. Tapachula is somewhat run down and a little rough, not a destination in itself.
