Pigeon Island Saint Lucia Cruise Port Guide
Location:
Pigeon Island has become a self-contained destination on St.Lucia: a port of entry with complete customs facilities, it has extensively expanded docks that include forty fully-serviced slips able to receive super yachts or cruisers.
Pigeon Island is a tender port.
Most larger cruise ships dock at the Port of Castries. The center of town can be reached on foot in about 15 minutes. Taxi rates are government controlled and expensive and it is advisable to agree on the fare with the driver before leaving port.
In Castries there are two terminals:
Pointe Seraphine cruise terminal. A 20 minute walk into town or a 5-10 minute taxi ride,
La Place Carenage cruise terminal. Right in the center of town.
The distance from the cruise terminal in Castries to downtown Castries is very short, about 1 kilometer (0.6 miles). However, the distance from the cruise terminal to Pigeon Island is around 11 kilometers (7 miles), which is approximately a 20-30 minute drive depending on traffic.
Taxis are available to and from most locations. Water taxis will take you to most places you want to visit also.
