The Port of Hirara is located in the northwestern part of Miyako Island. 15 minute walk to downtown. Most of the time shuttles will operate.
The terminal is about 1 km away from the berth. Shuttle bus from berth to terminal is operated for passenger transport.
Miyakojima, also known as Miyako Island, is Okinawa's fourth largest island and known for its lovely beaches and excellent coral reefs. The island's tropical climate make it a popular year-round destination. The island is densely planted with sugar cane fields.

It lacks any major hills or mountains and is mostly covered by sugar cane fields and a few towns, among which Hirara is the largest with a moderate range of restaurants and bars. Resort hotels and pensions are found across the island. Unlike other parts of Okinawa, Miyako is free of habu snakes.
f you can tear yourself away from the beach, head to the Miyakojima City Tropical Plant Garden that boasts 1,600 plant species and 40,000 trees. It's also possible to play a spot of golf on a variety of courses.
