Abidjan Ivory Coast
Location:
Abidjan, the economic capital of Ivory Coast, is a vibrant cruise destination with a lot to offer. However, the political instability and the civil war of the past decade have taken their toll on the city. Neglect, low maintenance of buildings and public space and the mass exodus of foreigners have given the city an atmosphere of "lost glory".
The central business district and one of the most prominent areas in Abidjan, is approximately 5 kilometers (about 3 miles) from port. This distance can be covered in about 10 to 20 minutes by car, depending on traffic.
La Pyramide is a high-rise building located in the Plateau area of Abidjan, the largest city in Ivory Coast. Construction of the building began in 1968 and was completed in 1973.
National Museum of Abidjan A decent little museum, certainly worth checking out, the National Museum of Abidjan is centrally located in the city's Le Plateau region.

Grand-Bassam: Although a bit farther, it's worth the visit for its colonial architecture and beautiful beaches. It is about a 45-minute drive from the port.
